The first review is the new book from O'Reilly 'Runnning Linux (3rd Edition)' by Matt Welsh, Matthias Kalle Dalheimer and Lar Kaufman. Does the book live up to the massive reputation of its earlier cousin (2nd Edition)among Linux fans? Come and visit our Book Review Section to find out.

"This book is still a gold mine of information on the basics of using a linux system. Any computer science student who 'needs Unix at home' would find it extremely useful when using linux for the first time. However, the 3rd Edition has lost some its shine on being the definitive newbie guide for two reasons. Firstly, the book is introducing and explaining far too much. In fact, it would have been better to leave them out and redirect readers to the more in depth books available... Secondly, the Linux book market has grown substantially. Other players have identified this market niche and are publishing books, some good..."
