"The catalyst came in the second week of January 2000. Wendy complained about how long her laptop was taking to boot up. Mind you, the laptop is no speed demon by modern standards (P233,32MB,2GB), but it is still a decent machine for running Windows on...."

"I'll bet you if you try Linux for a month, you'll like it better than Windows." I said, somewhat smugly, figuring Wendy would never try it. She had used my Linux machine a few times and found it usable but unfriendly and foreign."
