"Linux accounted for one in four server operating system shipments last year, more than rivals Netware and Unix, and biting at the heels of Windows NT."
"According to preliminary data from analyst IDC, 1.35 million of the 5.4 million total new server operating system environments shipped worldwide in 1999 were Linux. This represents 25 per cent of all server sales and is an increase of 16 per cent from the same period in 1998."
"NT's shipment share remained on top, but static, at 38 per cent. Novell's Netware slumped from 23 per cent to 19 per cent, and Unix fell from 19 per cent to 15 per cent."
