Lineo Notches Six Wins For Embedded Linux Products

Lineo, a developer of Linux system software for embedded devices, says it has forged agreements with six Taiwanese embedded device vendors for use of its platform.

Lineo is the developer of Embedix Linux.  The six companie sare: Arima, Compal Electronics, First International Computer (FIC), Micro-Star (MSI), Mitac and Wisecom.

Arima produces digital cameras and smart phones. Compal Electronics manufactures handhelds and CDMA phones and has OEM relationships with large companies such as Dell, HP, Fujitsu and Compaq and NEC.

FIC and MSI manufacture mainboards, Mitac produces a variety of desktop, laptop and display devices and Wisecom focuses on devices that provide is a professional manufacturer.
