"Even some of Intel's devices will have 'Jeode' software under the hood."

"Java is finding its way into Internet appliances and embedded devices, and this time the market may justify the hype. One barometer will be Insignia Solutions, which sold off its PC emulation software and has bet its future on Jeode, a Sun Authorized clone of Personal and Embedded Java."

"Insignia last month reported a Q4 loss, because its transition into a Java company is not complete. But Insignia has signed deals with Bsquare, MontaVista and Intel. Bsquare is the largest integrator of Windows Powered (i.e., Windows CE and Embedded NT) solutions. MontaVista will integrate Jeode with embedded Linux for PowerPCs and Intel x86 Pentiums. Intel, despite its feud with Sun, will use Jeode in its NetStructure (formerly iPivot) product line."
