"Drawing from the outside forces threatening its empire, Internet advertising giant DoubleClick (DCLK) said Wednesday that it has hired a New York City government consumer advocate and a former New York state attorney general to fill two newly created privacy posts."

"New York City Consumer Affairs Commissioner Jules Polonetsky will begin as DoubleClick's chief privacy officer in two weeks. He will work with the company's clients to establish and monitor their privacy policies and will act as the firm's public spokesman on privacy issues, the company said Wednesday."

"DoubleClick also said it has retained lawyer Bob Abrams, a four-time former New York attorney general, to chair its new privacy advisory board. Abrams will help select the committee's members and direct its presentation of online privacy issues to DoubleClick executives."
