LinuxPR: Mount Linux To Provide Protectix with Next Generation System Administration Tool
Aug 22, 2000, 20:17 (0 Talkback[s])
"Mount Linux and Protectix announced today a development
agreement for Olympus, Mount Linux' secure remote administration
tool. Under the agreement, Mount Linux will provide Olympus and
development expertise to integrate Olympus with Protectix Appliance
OS. Protectix, specializing in Open Source security solutions,
found a need in their product line that both web-based or
proprietary graphical interface could not fulfill."
"Mount Linux Olympus was the application we were looking for.
Unlike a web-based interface, it scales beyond the control of a
single machine." stated Kevin Sexton, co-founder and COO of
Protectix. "We looked at a few proprietary management solutions and
were disappointed. Mount Linux was the ideal partner; they were the
only company we found who's strong emphasis on open source and
security matched our own."
"Using open source software and time tested protocols,
Olympus will enable Protectix customers to remotely administer and
update up to hundreds of Protectix appliances using a single
graphical interface."
