"MontaVista Software, Inc., developer of the Hard Hat Linux
operating system for embedded applications, announced that Hard Hat
Linux has received Linux Journal and LINUX Business Expo's Penguin
Playoff Awards for Best Embedded Solution. MontaVista's Hard Hat
Linux was selected from a field of more than 60 exhibitors at the
Linux Business Expo in Las Vegas."
"MontaVista supports freely available development tools such as
Microwindows, which gives developers the power to create advanced
GUI interfaces with a small memory footprint," said Richard Vernon,
Editor of Linux Journal. "Developing and maintaining Open Source
tools is absolutely necessary for success as an embedded Linux
distribution vendor. MontaVista's tools are impressive."
