ZDNet: SuSE 7.1 Professional Still in Minor LeaguesMar 28, 2001, 09:03 (44 Talkback[s])(Other stories by Roger Hartje) Jeremy Allison wrote in to let us know about ZDNet's review of SuSE Linux 7.1. He writes: The interesting thing is they say Linux is still in the minor leagues as a desktop OS and only recommend it for "Microsoft haters" and "cash strapped companies" but they give no *reasons* for saying this, other than "the cost of retraining from Windows would be prohibitive". At the same time they praise Linux as a server. As far as I can see this is a review done begrudingly by someone who is used to running Windows on their desktop, and doesn't want to learn anything new. Sigh. Well at least Linux is getting reviews now. A few years ago it would have been ignored. Progress of a sort :-). Regards, Jeremy Allison, Related Stories:
