FSF: Software Patent examples coordinator needed.

May 27, 2001, 23:20 (2 Talkback[s])

[ Thanks to Hugo Gayosso for the info.]

The Free Software Foundation is looking for a volunteer to coordinate
the efforts to gather a list of cases where free software has been
harmed by software patents.

We already have a list of cases but we need to go through it (reading,
verifying, etc.) and generate a document that we can publish in our
web site.

The main tasks:

* Read the cases sent to us.

* Verify the facts.

* Help define a format for publishing.

* Generate the document that will be published.

* Coordinate with other organizations with similar goals to share
information and avoid duplication of effort.

Read the initial announcement by Richard M. Stallman requesting
example cases at:

If you are interested in helping with this task, please send an email
to: Hugo Gayosso
