Jul 25, 2001, 23:00 (0 Talkback[s])
"The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) today announced the
appointment of Chuck Mead as President and of James Lacey to the
LPI Board of Directors.
Mead is the LPI's second-ever President, taking over from Dan
York. One of the original co-founders of LPI in 1998, Mead has
served in many capacities within the organization, most recently as
Director of Information Technology. He was also instrumental in the
development of LPI's first level of certification exams (LPIC1).
Outside of LPI, Mead serves as the CEO of Moongroup Consulting and
was previously CTO of LinuxMall.com
"Dan York left behind some mighty big shoes to fill. He led LPI
from its foundation to where it is one of the most successful
nonprofits in the Linux community. With the help of our excellent
Board, our many sponsors and all the many volunteers helping us, I
look forward to helping LPI reach even higher, " said Mead. "LPI
will miss Dan's very capable leadership, but we are grateful that
he had it as long as he did. Thanks, Dan."
