osOpinion: Unix Raises the Bar

"...Microsoft software dominates the vast majority of the corporate IT world. This is no secret, and is generally accepted as the way things are. Why?

When I ask this question of most people, the responses I get include 'that's what everybody else uses,' 'it's easy to use,' and 'what else is there?'.

Now is the time to challenge these answers. People are starting to notice that the use of Microsoft products is directly related to how much damage can be inflicted. Many people, however, have no idea what the other options are or how to protect themselves."
