IBM Engineers Join the Samba Team

Oct 22, 2001, 12:32 (13 Talkback[s])
(Other stories by Jeremy Allison)

A pair of IBM developers have joined the Samba team. Jeremy Allison explains:

Note this doesn't mean IBM is giving us money or anything. What it really means is that tridge and I have given these guys CVS access to the main source code (which is all being on the Team really means :-). This means a couple of IBM engineers have the same access rights as the Team members from SGI, HP, Veritas and others :-).

Jim and Steve work in the Linux Technology Center at IBM and have been actively involved in the development and testing of Samba for a long time. We are delighted to have them in the team!

They've already committed some new code to add a "net use" utility to allow UNIX command line client control to OS/2 and Windows NT/2000 servers.

Cheers,
Jeremy
