"When did you hear of KDE first?
"I think it was October 1999. My Windows box suffered a lot from
crashes/viruses/etc. so I decided to look for an alternative. I
thought Macintosh was the only alternative available, so I looked
for a Macintosh dealer at Google. By mistake I typed Macintosch,
and I didn't found anything. So I tried alternative operating
system, and here it was: Linux. It was a Computer Associates
website and I was able to get a copy of Red Hat Linux 6.2 for free.
It even worked on my existing hardware, so I didn't have to buy new
hardware. It looked too good to be true. Two days later, I received
the Red Hat CD and from that day, I'm using Linux/KDE..."
