PR: MandrakeSoft Makes a MandrakeMove
Dec 18, 2003, 18 :00 UTC (4 Talkback[s]) (8880 reads)

MandrakeSoft, the maker of the popular Mandrake Linux distribution, today announced the release of MandrakeMove, a complete Linux desktop system that runs "on the fly" from a single bootable CD. MandrakeMove is a new product designed for the PC platform that requires no installation process and cleverly uses a USB key to save personal data. Pricing starts at $19.90.

MandrakeMove is Mandrake Linux with "live CD" technology. It includes everything needed for Internet, Office and Multimedia tasks on a single bootable CD, including a full-featured office suite compatible with Microsoft Office documents.

MandrakeMove is a complete portable productivity tool for computer users who are "on the move" and who require a light and full-featured operating system (complete with stored personal data) without the burden of lugging around laptop. Just insert MandrakeMove into a CD-ROM drive, boot from the disc, and a few seconds later enjoy a complete and full-featured Mandrake Linux operating system.

MandrakeMove is also an ideal way to help expand Linux adoption as it doesn't require installation and may be used without advanced knowledge of computing.

"MandrakeMove is an impressive new product that marks an important step in the way computers are used. This is truly a 'non-geek' product that will people experience Linux for the first time, although I'm certain computer enthusiasts will love it as well! MandrakeMove fits perfectly within our approach of bringing Linux technology to the largest number of people", said François Bancilhon, CEO of MandrakeSoft.

MandrakeMove is sure to become one of this season's "hot techno-gift" with prices starting at $19.90.
