"Given that Mozilla is now defined by Debian as non-free, I
decided to look at other alternatives for mail and web browsing.
This was based on a number of things, including a lesson I learned
years ago that adopting fully free software whenever possible pays
off in the long run (we wouldn't have GNU/Linux without it!), and
the fact that right now Mozilla is in a transition between the
Communicator base and Firefox/Thunderbird.
"I normally run KDE (or XFCE4) as my X desktop, so my first
impulse was to take a look at Konqueror and KMail. This review,
part 1 of 2 (part 2 will focus on browsers), will focus on
transitioning from Mozilla's Mail to KMail (v1.6.2, the latest in
Sid at the time of this writing). To call it a review is 'iffy,'
it's actually written from a perspective of someone switching from
Mozilla and expects you to know something about mail clients in
general and especially Mozilla..."
