"I Have frequently been asked, 'How did you get started with Linux?' The following is the near epic tale of my transformation from mindless Windows drone to open source zealot.

"Late in the month of November of 2001 my home PC crashed for the last time. I had purchased my first computer (a low cost computer with Windows ME preinstalled) approximately a year prior, and I spent what little money I had left on MS Office 2000.
