"It seems like only yesterday when I first found VectorLinux on the pages of DistroWatch. Mad Penguin was still in its infancy and we were looking for software to write about. VectorLinux was an attractive package at the time since it was then becoming a reality that desktop Linux distributions were getting fatter and fatter to keep up with consumer demand and enthusiastic development. As we've seen in the Windows world, there is a price to pay for bloat, and it's measured in increments of PC performance. We're still seeing that today, but as many of you recall, it wasn't long ago when you could brag about how this or that distro outperformed Windows requiring far less resources..."
