"When ZDTV (later renamed TechTV, then G4TechTV and finally G4) first broadcasted its signal across the airwaves, I was intrigued by the ongoing enthusiasm that was expressed for a little operating system called Linux. Mention was made of the OS on The Screen Savers, Call for Help, and pretty much every other program on the network. I had briefly heard of Linux before, but I'd never really seen anyone evangelize it like the on-air personalities on ZDTV did. I was using the 'revolutionary' Windows 98 at the time, and I didn't know any better. The discussions by fellow techies about Linux were infectious, and they caused me to want to give it a try. So I did.
