"Thunderbird is a quite capable mail client for most common
platforms such as Windows, Macintosh and Linux, which is part of
the Mozilla product family. Together with the Lightning Calendar
extension and Sync Kolab allows not only to read and write mail or
keep up with news groups, but also track the schedule of yourself
and others. Syncing with the new Google Calendar has never been so
easy, not to mention the use of Gmail. But Thunderbird can also
fetch mail from any server, preferable via IMAP, which also allows
to share the address book and calendar with others and provides
always the same current state of Inbox, Drafts and sent messages,
no matter if you use multiple systems (say from work and
home)..."
