"I ran across a business website that refers to Amanda and Bacula as freeware. While I realize the average user may not recognize the difference, those of us who know better should distinguish clearly between the terms freeware and Free Software.

"It happens more than some of us may realize. People call Free Software freeware (and vice-versa), as if both terms mean the same thing. Journalists working for the mainstream local newspapers frequently prefer to cater to the ignorance of the masses than to state clearly the difference between various categories of software..."
