"Intel scored a win in the low-cost PC race Wednesday with news that the government of Portugal plans to distribute half a million of the company's Classmate PCs to its school kids. Pricing details are still being worked out. The deal represents a massive order for computers of this sort. By comparison, rival OLPC had orders totaling 600,000 of its XO computers as of last May."
