"When our aunt (born in 1940, so she's about 68 now, and yes, of course she's also a granny, simply not ours) showed some interest into having/getting a computer years ago, we (mostly my brother & me) dug out a collection of old hardware, put together what we had, and built a computer for her. Someone else had a monitor, all that kind of thing. I installed the actual stable release of Debian on that machine (that was still Sarge at that time), and she had a running machine.

"Sooner or later, she wanted something better, and went and bought some machine at a big German retailer. Athlon 1.7Ghz, 512MB of RAM, 80GB hard disk. I moved her Sarge installation to that one, and she was happy - not a single complaint over all those years."
