"The nations of Africa, where I will arrive tomorrow, have the lowest Internet usage per captia in the world. According to Internet World Stats, only 5.3% of the African population has Internet access (compared to 15.3% for Asia, 48.1% for Europe, and 73.6% for North America).

"In terms of sheer numbers, it should be noted, Asia wins with 578.5 million users, Europe 384.6 million, and North America 248.2 million. Africa has 51.1 million Internet surfers, higher only than the Middle East (41.9 million) and Australia/Oceania (20.2 million)."
