"This is a stoooory about a cat who's gone to the dogs. Whoops, too much Muppet show. It's not a story about a cat who's gone to the dogs but the story of a transition from windows to Linux. This person is one of your typical computer users. Very smart in many things. A respected English instructor at a well known University and very good at their work. Unfortunately, unwilling and unable to spend time learning how to properly care for their computer. To this person a computer is simply a tool enabling them to do their work. The usual appliance mentality.

"Being in the educational system, transferring files from computer to computer via USB flash drives, virus's are rife. This persons computer was running windows xp and they didn't want to change. Since they bought the computer I was occasionally involved with keeping it running. They know I use Linux and have expressed some interest in it yet were unwilling to leave windows. Stating that they need windows for their work and must have it. I did manage to convince them to allow me to install Kubuntu on a very small partition. I even tried to have them use Open Office on their windows installation."
