"I would have thought that this issue had been dead and
buried however, unfortunately there are still those out there who
believe that installing software is easier under windows than under
Linux. Let me tell you right now, it is not! It is far more
involved installing programs under windows than it is installing
the equivalent programs under Linux.
"Lets start from the beginning. Although I don't like to assume
because it makes an ass out of u and me I will have to in this
exercise to illustrate my point. Person A whom we shall call Arthur
buys a computer with windows installed. This windows computer, as
delivered from the shop does not do much. So Arthur decides to
install some programs to make his computer more usable as he is
writing a book about his travels. We will get back to Arthur
"At the other end of the scale there is person Z, Lets call him
Zaphod. Zaphod, according to his own description is a smart, witty
and cool guy. Not wanting to be run of the mill, Zaphod buys a
computer with Linux installed. On unpacking the box Zaphod finds
that he has all that he needs to run his business of such
complexity that Zaphod wishes he had two heads."
