"When we install computers for our kids at The HeliOS
Project, one of the main sources of confusion is the differences
between Windows and Linux file systems. Most Windows users don't
know much about their Program Files or Win32 folders but they do
know about My Documents. In most cases, this is where their
personal files, pictures, movies and music reside.
"Because you are used to doing things one way doesn't mean that
an alternative is any more difficult. In fact, the Linux file
system hierarchy is really much simpler once you understand it.
We're not going to worry about the entire file system here. We will
focus on the files you use most...your personal files"
