"Over the last several years I have seen great leaps and bounds
in terms of ease of use for Linux based operating systems (have to
keep the purists happy :) which I will refer to as simply Linux.
Because I am lazy and don't want to write Linux based operating
system all the time.
"Before it used to be a challenging task to install Linux onto a
computer and have it recognise and configure all devices. Now,
modern Linux distributions aimed for desktop usage are, dare I say
it, almost windows like in the ability to detect and configure new
devices. I do say almost because with modern day Linux's you do not
need to install external drivers for the most part. The hardware
"just works" :) This is a big plus in my humble opinion.
