Microsoft is not a company that pursues litigation lightly. In fact, this is only our seventh proactive patent infringement suit in our 36-year history. But we simply cannot ignore infringement of this scope and scale.'

"So, by Gutierrez's own words, Microsoft does not pursue litigation 'lightly', and yet it has chosen to attack a number of companies that have in common only the fact that they are making and selling products running Android. Clearly there is something bigger going on here. Oh, and that "scope and scale" of infringement he refers to?"
