HP Linux users organizing

A Linux special interest group of Interex (The International Association of Hewlett-Packard Computing Professionals) is forming.

The focus of the new group will be the use of the Linux operating system in an enterprise or corporate environment.

Interex conducted a survey during August and September to assess the interest in such a group.

The survey received responses from members in 11 countries, of whom 55% use Linux in their businesses and reported an average of 10 Linux machines at their business site. One site reported using 300 Linux machines.

Interex has set up a mailing list for discussing Linux and is considering other Linux support.

More information is on the Interex web site.
