Linux.com: The Jay Daunheimer interview [President of LuteLinux.com]

Jun 14, 2000, 11:07 (1 Talkback[s])

"Linux.com: I've heard the LuteLinux distribution described as being "a pretty face on Slackware." Is that an accurate description?"

"Jay Daunheimer: Yeah, I wouldn't completely disagree with it. Basically, in LuteLinux Lite, which is the only distribution we've provided so far, we wrote our own installer which was based on some of the Slackware work. We repackaged what we thought was the best of Slackware into a "Lite" variety of distribution to get our names out there and give ourselves a start. LuteLinux Lite was developed in a 45-day period, and now we're working on the full LuteLinux distribution, which will be available by this fall."

"Linux.com: Will the full distribution be based on Slackware or some other distribution?"

"Jay Daunheimer: Although it isn't decided yet, I don't see it being based on Slackware."
