Big Blue Smoke: Sun Uses Humor to Take Shots at IBM

Mar 15, 2002, 19:50 (23 Talkback[s])

"Santa Clara, CA - In a stunning response to continued assaults by industry titan IBM, Sun Microsystems today launched a web site. www.bigbluesmoke.com is reported to be the first known use of Internet Technology Competitive Humor (ITCH). Designed to expose the typewriter company's Obfuscation Infrastructure with a healthy dose of humor and truth, ITCH is an updated version of the foolery of ancient times. It is not yet clear how or if IBM will respond to this assault. However, an inside source indicated that 'Big Blue' will be forming an inter-Series cross-functional marketing committee to discuss what response to purchase. When reached for comment, the publisher of Big Blue Smoke said, 'We need everyone's help to watchdog all the puffery and folly. If readers have stories or comments to share, please email me at editor@bigbluesmoke.com...'"
