"IBM Corp has poured cold water on the concept of a Linux desktop productivity suite, downplaying today's open source contenders in favor of a portal-based approach.

"With Sun Microsystems Inc preparing to launch its Mad Hatter desktop next month, including an open-source productivity suite, IBM has said it does not yet see any open-source replacement package for Microsoft Corp's Office..."
