"Some would-be customers might consider it a bit risky to switch to Linux. But analysts say the long-term prospects for Red Hat and the Linux market still look good.

"Red Hat, which makes and distributes a version of the Linux operating system, will unveil its latest platform, called 'Enterprise 3,' next month, a move that is viewed as a test of the market reach of Linux at the corporate level. But deployment of Enterprise 3 comes in an atmosphere of chaos resulting from SCO Group's lawsuit against IBM, which alleges that Big Blue misappropriated Unix code..."
