"Linux has been making waves last year, especially in North Asia. Governments from China, Korea, and Japan have placed their trust in Linux by teaming up to create their own Linux OS version.

"The OS has also seen growing adoption among enterprises. IDC expects Linux to continue growing at a much faster pace than Windows and Unix in the server space. According to IDC Enterprise Server Tracker, Q3'03, Linux server shipments and spending will grow at a CAGR of 40% and 31% respectively from 2002 to 2007.

"In comparison, Windows and Unix server shipments will grow at 18% and 5% respectively in the said period..."
