"We had the opportunity to sit down with Joseph Eckert, SUSE LINUX Vice President of Corporate Communications, and pick his brain for a few moments regarding the current state of their corporation as well as the future. SUSE has always been at the top of their game when it comes the Linux operating system, and it appears that some things never change.

"If you haven't heard it yet, the new version will hit retail shelves and virtual online shelves in early May. Another new feature is the pricing... it's dropped. The Personal version will set you back $29.95USD (a 2 CD set), while the Professional version will ring in at $89.95USD. If you already own a previous copy of SUSE LINUX, you can buy the upgrade for only $59.95USD (5 CD/2 double-sided DVD set). This is a nice break on an excellent desktop distro. New in this release is the introduction of the Linux 2.6, which is the first commercial retail release of the new kernel. For the desktop enviroment, GNOME 2.4.2 and KDE 3.2.1 should make you smile. It also includes the ability to run the OS right from a bootable live CD. This will make the perfect companion for the professional on the go..."
