"Linux, the open source operating system created 10 years ago by
Linus Torvalds, is finally making its way into the corporate
mainstream. That goal will only be reached, says a major player in
the Linux community, when Linux finally comes to the user's
desktop.
"'It makes absolute sense that the desktop is the goal of every
Linux developer,' Chris Schl&aum;ger, vice president, research
and development, at SuSe Linux AG, told eChannelLine at Novell
Brainshare 2004. 'After all, every Linux developer has a desktop.
And remember that the reason Linus Torvalds created Linux was to
have an operating system for his personal computer...'"
