"Since August 2003, we have seen significant Linux adoption
taking place within many sectors of the US federal government.
Major accomplishments include deployment of a large interoperable
database project using LAMP, Justice Department XML standards,
establishment of a Government Open Source Community sponsored by
the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), and organization of the
Government Open Code Collaborative.

focuses primarily on standards-based thrusts into cooperation among
states and local governments..."
