LinuxInsider: Serpro To Adopt Open Source in 60 Percent of Workstations

Brazil's federal data processing firm Serpro will adopt a
GNU/Linux operational system in 60 percent of its 2,500
workstations by December this year, a Serpro press spokesperson
confirmed.
"The migration to an open-source software platform will
initially generate savings of 3 million reais (US$1 million) by not
having to renew proprietary software licenses, local daily Gazeta
Mercantil reported Serpro director Sérgio Rosa as
saying..."
