"Linux server market share will continue to grow: (yawn) Linux is now accepted and nothing short of a victory for SCO in its legal saga is going to stop the momentum. (I refuse to call that--its legal not about IT). The server market is not a real market per se, it is an aggregation of several markets--servers sold per function (web server, file server, mail server, etc.), general purpose servers (servers bought by momentum because so many useful apps run on them) and servers bundled for a given app. Linux is now credible for database servers and for major applications such as SAP. This is a rising trend for Linux and consequently it will grab further market share. Linux is expanding further into the territory of Windows and Unix. This will continue for several years yet..."
