"One of Oregon's best-known open source software companies has landed $6 million in venture capital, but is moving to California to spend it.

"Compiere Inc., which came to Portland last year to tap into the region's cluster of open source development, plans to announce today that it will relocate to a still-to-be determined site in the Silicon Valley.
