"Oracle might be looking to acquire open source database provider Ingres, according to speculation from analyst Bruce Richardson of AMR Research.

"As Richardson sees it, the main rationale for such an acquisition is that 'Oracle would love to lure all of Infor's ERP [enterprise resource planning] infrastructure business away from IBM...'"
