"There’s no denying the fact that Linux had an underground
and alternative feel to it at first, and even down to this day,
it’s (dare I say) almost a hip thing for geeks to be
intimately familiar with. If you could bust out some Linux
know-how, then you were accepted by your peers. It’s almost
like some sort of twisted gang, except with smaller arms, higher
pants, and weekly meetings in their parent’s basements.
Today, Linux has become more widespread and accessible, but with
that said, it still sort of feels like an exclusive group. Well,
starting immediately, any correlation of Linux and the underground
has officially been called off due to the French."
