"A couple of things struck me from Elive, First the Desktop effects that can be simply applied like the diving penguins and the flame at the bottom of the desktop or the falling rain. Those effects were simple to use just by clicking load and boom they are there. 2nd, the Elive Panel really caught my eye as I'm not sure where I have seen something like it before but it was like wow the zoom effects and the way the bottom bar scrolls in on what each icon does.

"Elive does not come with OpenOffice or Firefox but it does come with IceWeasel which is essentially FireFox and Gnumeric aka excel and AbiWord aka Word, also comes with GIMP for art, Mplayer for movies, and XMMS for music."
