"Business heads "obsess" over preventing product lock-in across
other industries, yet fail to do the same for IT decisions,
Whitehurst said. He added that large software houses are "spewing
cash" to perpetuate this pattern....
"Yet, because many senior executives don't understand IT,
lock-in happens in all the time with IT deployment. And other
software companies--Microsoft, Oracle--they're just spewing out
cash to lock you in. And most executives don't realize it because
they don't understand IT."
