"Amelio will be succeeded as chief executive officer by chairman Yang Yuanqing, Beijing-based Lenovo announced. It said co-founder Liu Chuanzhi would return as chairman, replacing Yang.

"The world's fourth-largest PC manufacturer said its global sales fell 20 per cent in the three months ending December 31 compared with the same period of 2007. It said shipments in its home market of China fell seven per cent."
