Qualcomm sees big bucks in China's smartbook market

"True, the smartbook as a device category doesn't truly exist just yet, but CEO Jacobs is bullish on the topic, predicting massive consumer acceptance of smartbooks based on Qualcomm's TD-SCDMA chips in mainland China throughout 2010.

"To many the smartbook is simply a small note or netbook style device that uses a suped-up mobile phone chip instead of a regular PC chip. The key differences in terms of user experience is that these devices won't work with a regular Microsoft Windows software, but instead offer better battery life and lower price points."
