If people could copy our software and create cheap knockoffs of our products, we wouldn't get paid for our engineering and wouldn't be able to invest what we invest," Ellison testified.

Umm. You mean like taking Red Hat's software and offering it as a cheap knock off called Oracle's "Unbreakable" Linux? You mean like that, Larry? He's done for the day on the witness stand, I've just heard. But he'll be back tomorrow for more wonderfully inventive quotable quotes. Maybe he can ask around the office and find out if anyone knows if everyone is allowed to run Java freely or not.
