Industry Standard: Trial Focus to Switch to Java

The U.S. government in its case against Microsoft will next call Java creator James Gosling to the witness stand.

Sun was recently granted a preliminary injunction forcing Microsoft to make changes to its Java products.

Microsoft plans to file a motion to have the government's case dismissed.

"The new deal (between Netscape and AOL) was just one component of why we would be filing this motion," said Microsoft spokesman Jim Cullinan.
