"Last I checked, Bill Gates was still the richest man in the world. And he just got a tiny bit richer because of me... a couple of weeks back, I bought my first Windows machine.

"Of course, I bought it to run Linux.

"I can't tell you why. It's very strange. I feel somehow compelled by the Zeitgeist to install Linus Torvald's little baby on my new machine. I'm not giving up on my iMac; the Windows/Linux box is very definitely a secondary, mess-around machine. And there's nothing even remotely rational about my choice. Sure, Linux arguably runs faster, cleaner and more reliably than any OS out there, but that's not why I want it. I just want it. Is that so wrong?"
